Header Tanks for Water Storage
The Header Tank is usually used to fill the heating system and accommodate the expansion of water from the heating system during the heating cycle. It should have a screened overflow pipe running to a drain or outside, a mains water supply connecting to the tank with a ball valve to fill the system and an outlet cold feed pipe and also an open vent pipe from the heating system for the expansion.
